Resumo
The operation, design, optimization and control of cyclic adsorption separation/reaction processes is challenging due to their complex dynamic behavior and the difficulty of measuring their main properties. This talk focuses on a short overview of those issues, and as a case study, it will be presented the production of n-propyl propionate on a Simulated Moving Bed Reactor (SMBR). Such developments have been carrying out within the scope of the international scientific cooperation between LSRE-FEUP and CTAI-UFBA, the so-called AICySPrOC initiative, Artificial Intelligent-oriented Cyclic adsorption Separation/reaction Processes Optimization and Control.
